In Numerology, there are two types of Karmic Numbers:

Karmic DEBTS and Karmic LESSONS.

Needless to say, Karmic Debts hold a bit more weight and Karmic Lessons are less intense than a Karmic Debt.

The Karmic Numbers are 13, 14, 16, and 19.

So what are Karmic numbers?

Let’s break it down and talk about what Karmic Numbers might bring with them.

And then we’ll discuss the specifics to the Karmic Number 16/7.

KARMIC DEBT:

The Karmic Debt can also be referred to as a Testing Number, Warning Number or Hidden Number. Basically, the Karmic Debt number indicates that you have a debt to pay in this lifetime for the actions you performed in a former lifetime.

When you see one of these numbers show up as one of the Core Numbers in your chart, it’s a message that you’re working with issues from the past.

Here’s an example of how a Karmic Number might show up in your chart.

Example:

If you were born on July 16, 1950, your Birthday Number (which is simply the number of the day you were born digited down to a one-digit number) would be a Karmic Number 16/7.

When you see a Karmic number, it’s telling you that you’ll experience significant challenges or difficulties with a particular “topic” in your life.

It will depend on where it lands in your chart as to what the over-all effect might be.

So while this can be seen as a harsh “uh-oh!” it’s actually really nice to know that the struggles you’re most likely experiencing over and over again can be given a name and a reason for being.

It’s rather like having credit card debt. You have to decide to forgo that vacation, eating out, or buying that expensive car because you have to – instead – use that money to incrementally pay off your credit card. If you don’t pay it off, the debt keeps accumulating, the interest rate goes up, and the debt consumes your life. The collections service starts calling. The Repo Man shows up. You get the picture.

So when you see a Karmic number, it simply indicates that you have a debt to pay.

Luckily, if Numerology resonates with you, knowing the nature of the debt you’re paying is a bonus and a positive thing.

When you can name it, you can in some ways embrace it and do something about it.

KARMIC DEBT NUMBER 16/7

The number 16/7 represents the misuse of love in a previous manifestation.  Some Numerologists suggest that this Karmic Number also indicates that you will be challenged with leveling your ego in this lifetime.  The 16/7 is a spiritual actualizer; you’ll be presented with experience after experience where your life crumbles, you embrace humility and your sense of higher purpose, and you experience “destruction and rebirth” from a variety of vantage points throughout your life.

If you have a 16/7 as one of your Core Numbers, understand this:  You are now paying back for past abuses where you were involved in illicit love affairs which resulted in suffering to others.  The 16/7 is telling you that there has been a pretty hefty abuse of love through acts of self-centeredness, irresponsibility, and a distortion of loving feelings.  The message here is that you need to get your ego in check!

Understand that the person who has the 16/7 as one of their core numbers will most likely act upon the more destructive tendencies of the number Seven until the lessons have been understood, acknowledged, acted upon, and mastered.  So some of the traits that must be grappled with are:

  • Difficult to approach
  • Isolation
  • Inability to have successful love relationships
  • Being withdrawn from the world
  • Being aloof
  • Self-centered and lacking the ability to connect with others
  • Over-the-top in their need for privacy
  • Emotionally detached
  • Looking down on others from an intellectual vantage point

If you’re willing to meet your challenge, you can shift your perspective and look at your obstacles as detours – if you can see that you’re goal is actually to embody the most optimal and positive potential of the Number Seven, then you’re cookin’.

Also understand that if this description just doesn’t sound anything like you (or who you think you are), then potentially you’re at a stage of development and maturity in your life – and have been working diligently on your own personal growth and evolution – that you’re more in alignment with the constructive element of the Number Seven.  If that describes you, then HATS OFF!  You’ve been doing your work.  It never hurts to give yourself a little reminder, though, now and again.  And a little pat on the back for a job well done.

The gift you’re given by knowing that you have a Karmic Debt to pay is this:  Rather than feeling victimized, you can see that this is something that you brought on yourself – despite the fact that you can’t remember it.  If you exert the energy and commitment to working in the positive realm of the number 7, then you’ll reap the benefits.  The Karmic Debt can feel like you’re the Phoenix;  you must go through an intense reconstruction or regeneration process in order to come to terms and clear your Karmic slate.

The bottom line:  Working with a Karmic Number intensifies the issues that relate to that number.  It’s not easy.  It requires concerted effort and focused commitment.  It’s testing you and requiring that you rewire the way you work with the constructive use of trust, openness, spirituality, intuition, and humility.  The destructive path will feel much more “comfortable” since you’ve been there, done that.  This time, you’re being asked to extract yourself from riding in that same rut in the road – you’re required to create a new way of working with these themes that have positive results for you and everyone around you.
