In Numerology, there are two types of Karmic Numbers:

Karmic DEBTS and Karmic LESSONS.

Needless to say, Karmic Debts hold a bit more weight and Karmic Lessons are less intense than a Karmic Debt.

The Karmic Numbers are 13, 14, 16, and 19.

So what are Karmic numbers?

Let’s break it down and talk about what Karmic Numbers might bring with them.

And then we’ll discuss the specifics to the Karmic Number 14/5.

KARMIC DEBT:

The Karmic Debt can also be referred to as a Testing Number, Warning Number or Hidden Number. Basically, the Karmic Debt number indicates that you have a debt to pay in this lifetime for the actions you performed in a former lifetime.

When you see one of these numbers show up as one of the Core Numbers in your chart, it’s a message that you’re working with issues from the past.

Here’s an example of how a Karmic Number might show up in your chart.

Example:

I had a client with these Core Numbers:

LIFE PATH: 8

EXPRESSION/DESTINY: 6

SOUL URGE: 3

BIRTHDAY: 8

Her Maturity Number (calculated by adding the Life Path number with the Expression/Destiny Number) is 14/5.

So this person has a Karmic Debt number 14/5 as her Maturity Number.

When you see a Karmic number, it’s telling you that you’ll experience significant challenges or difficulties with a particular “topic” in your life.

It’ll depend on where it lands in your chart as to what the over-all effect might be.

So while this can be seen as a harsh “uh-oh!” it’s actually really nice to know that the struggles you’re most likely experiencing over and over again can be given a name and a reason for being.

It’s rather like having credit card debt. You have to decide to forgo that vacation, eating out, or buying that expensive car because you have to – instead – use that money to incrementally pay off your credit card. If you don’t pay it off, the debt keeps accumulating, the interest rate goes up, and the debt consumes your life. The collections service starts calling. The Repo Man shows up. You get the picture.

So when you see a Karmic number, it simply indicates that you have a debt to pay.

Luckily, if Numerology resonates with you, knowing the nature of the debt you’re paying is a bonus and a positive thing.

When you can name it, you can in some ways embrace it and do something about it.

KARMIC DEBT NUMBER 14/5

The number 4 in the 14/5 represents the misuse of freedom in a previous manifestation. The 4 is all about stability, security, using step-by-step processes to achieve your goals, hard work, and responsibility.

The 1 in all Karmic Numbers refers to selfishness and self-absorption.  Then the number next to it (in this case the 4) is the indicator of the nature of the past infractions.

If you have a 14/5 as one of your Core Numbers, understand this:  You are now paying back for past abuses where you acted upon your personal (and often selfish) sense of freedom for yourself at the expense of others.  The 14/5 is telling you that there has been a pretty hefty abuse of freedom through being irresponsible and shunning any sense of responsibility.

It also points to issues relating to excessive behaviors.  The number 5 is the teacher of the constructive use of freedom – or freedom through self-discipline.  It demands a delicate balance between “freedom” and “escape.”

Understand that the person who has the 14/5 as one of their core numbers will most likely act upon the more destructive tendencies of the number 5 until the lessons have been understood, acknowledged, acted upon, and mastered.

Some of the traits that must be grappled with:

  1. Inability to hold on to a relationship
  2. Jumping from job to job
  3. Struggles with addictions (food, drugs, alcohol – anything detouring you from taking full responsibility for yourself)
  4. Lacking the ability to focus and follow through
  5. Lacking the ability to commit
  6. Severe or unhealthy sense of dependence
  7. Severe or unhealthy sense of independence
  8. Overly emotional response to change or not getting your way
  9. Inability to practice self-discipline
  10. Excessive sexual encounters

Now you’re being asked to tap into moderation – a healthy sense of discipline, organization, and routine.  You must understand that committing to some sense of structure and order in your life will actually offer you the real freedom you crave.  Only then can you create a plan, set attainable goals, and gain a focus and clarity.

You can expect to face experiences that test you by handing you some deep emotionally upsetting situations and even some frustrating delays.  Your test is in sticking to your commitments no matter what is thrown in your way.  Yet you can’t retract and limit yourself by becoming rigid and negative.

Your success resides in your ability to remain flexible yet disciplined, focused yet open to change, and determined to do the hard work and engage in the step-by-step processes that yield you results. You can’t blame others or bad luck on your inability to move forward with success.  It takes concerted effort, yet your tendency will most likely be to feel that it’s all taking far too much work and it’s all taking far too much time. Not so.

If you’re willing to meet your challenge, you can shift your perspective and look at your obstacles as detours – if you can see that you’re goal is actually to embody the most optimal and positive potential of the Number 5, then you’re cookin’.

Also understand that if this description just doesn’t sound anything like you (or who you think you are), then potentially you’re at a stage of development and maturity in your life – and have been working diligently on your own personal growth and evolution – that you’re more in alignment with the constructive elements of the 5.  If that describes you, then HATS OFF!  You’ve been doing your work.  It never hurts to give yourself a little reminder, though, now and again.  And a little pat on the back for a job well done.

The gift you’re given by knowing that you have a Karmic Debt to pay is this:  Rather than feeling victimized, you can see that this is something that you brought on yourself – despite the fact that you can’t remember it.  If you exert the energy and commitment to working in the positive realm of the number 5, then you’ll reap the benefits.  The Karmic Debt can feel like you’re the Phoenix – you must go through an intense reconstruction or regeneration process in order to come to terms and clear your Karmic slate.

The bottom line:  Working with a Karmic Number intensifies the issues that relate to that number.  It’s not easy.  It requires concerted effort and focused commitment.  It’s testing you and requiring that you rewire the way you work with the constructive use of freedom, adventure, fearlessness, taking others into consideration, and independence.  The destructive path will feel much more “comfortable” since you’ve been there, done that.  This time, you’re being asked to extract yourself from riding in that same rut in the road – you’re required to create a new way of working with these themes that have positive results for you and everyone around you.
